ITC gives importance to cutting-edge research areas opening Special Interest Groups and supporting related activities such as Special Issues, Conferences, Workshops, Standardization, etc. A SIG is generally opened on a very recent subject in Internet-working, if (and only if) there is a clear activity related to the subject, in which ITC members are involved and about which the ITC members are willing to report during meetings.
